Elderly and Rehabilitation Service Units
Elderly Day Care Centers
The Hong Kong Speech and Swallowing Therapy Center provides speech therapy services to nursing homes, elderly and rehabilitation service units, elderly day care centers, and others to assist elderly individuals and aging persons with swallowing difficulties or speech disorders. Our speech therapists professionally assess service users with swallowing difficulties in areas such as physical, swallowing food and drink, emotional, and social needs. We then offer personalized swallowing therapy and soft diet recommendations tailored to their individual requirements.
Furthermore, through targeted group activities or games, we train the elderly in memory, communication expression, reality orientation, and life skills to delay cognitive decline.

For elderly individuals in day care centers experiencing communication decline and swallowing functional impairments, we provide “Home-based Cross-disciplinary Intervention,” combining medical rehabilitation with social welfare care systems to achieve:

1. Swallowing Function Management Service

| Clinical Swallowing Assessment | Therapists diagnose swallowing disorders by observing the patient’s oral function and eating situation. Patients are invited to consume foods or drinks of different consistencies to observe any signs of swallowing difficulties. |
